Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? (Is The Order a Rabbit?) Review

WARNING: This will totally not be spoiler-free near the end.

I came across GochiUsa because my sister recommended it to me after watching Kin’iro Mosaic. Probably because

  1. They both have a set of super cute characters
  2. Yuri undertones.
  3. Cute girls doing cute things
  4. Comedy, Slice of Life genre

STORY:
Cocoa arrives at the cafe Rabbit House one day, excited for rabbits. She actually all but lives in that cafe. She meets lots of different girls there, including a tiny and cool girl named Chino, a tough and soldier-esque girl named Rize, a spacey and quintessentially Japanese girl named Chiyo, and the ordinary but dignified Sharo. PLOT:
No definite plot, only cute girls doing reaally really cute things. Pure entertainment, story has a very relaxing flow. Each episode leaves a smile on your face. Focuses on the heartwarming aspects of the girls’ interactions and their funny antics. Setting involves adorable themed cafes and western-y infrastructures.

CHARACTERS:
They are moe. They don’t have a lot of character traits to begin with but that’s given since this is a slice of life anime. There’s not much room for character development. However, the main cast’s evolving daily interactions are heartstrings-tugging. I will argue to the grave that these girls can make you smile at least once each episode.

ANIMATION/ART:
No questions. I am a sucker for moe so I’m rating this high! The western design of the place was pretty and the maid/ cafe costumes were extremely charming. Very pleasing to the eye.

MUSIC:
I liked both the OP and ED- although they’re not jazzy (as my all time faves are). I loved the OP more though. You cannot resist the KOKORO PYON PYON. You simply cannot.
